No Canadian will be getting a direct pass to the LPGA Tour next season through the top 10 on the Symetra Tour money list.
Going into the Symetra Tour Championship at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla., Maude-Aimee Leblanc of Sherbrooke, Que., needed at least a fourth place finish to earn LPGA status by finishing in the top 10 on the tour money list.
She was 15th on the money list coming into the Tour Championship and she made a solid effort to meet her goal. Instead, Leblanc tied for fifth on Sunday after shooting a three-under 69 that left her at 10 under. As a result, she finishes 14th on the money list.
Augusta James of Bath, Ont., who missed the cut, fell out of the top 10, from ninth to 12th and, along with Leblanc, will earn a direct pass to the final stage of LPGA Tour qualifying school as finishers from 11th to 33rd on the money list. James missed the top 10 by less than $1,000.
Joining James and Leblanc will be Samantha Richdale of Kelowna, B.C. (19th) Vancouver’s Jessica Wallace (26th), Sara-Maude Juneau of Fossambault, Que., (28th) and Sue Kim of Langley, B.C. (32nd).
