A trio of Canadians finished the fifth round at PGA Tour School with five-under scores on Sunday to elevate their positions going into Monday’s final round at Orange County National near Orlando.
Matt McQuillan of Kingston, Ont., went into the final round within the top 25 at Q-school who will receive their PGA Tour cards for 2011. McQuillan’s five-under on Sunday left him in a tie for 16th at 10-under for the tournament.
McQuillan was tied for 40th going into Sunday’s fourth round.
Jon Mills of Belleville, Ont., who is seeking his card for the third time, also recorded a five-under score on Sunday to make a big move up the leaderboard from a tie for 92nd to a tie for 52nd.
Vancouver’s Richard Lee was the other Canadian to post a five-under score on Sunday and is in a tie for 61st going into Monday’s action.
