Jennifer Kirby of Paris, Ont., jumped up the leaderboard during the second round of LPGA Tour qualifying at LPGA International in Daytona Beach.
Kirby shot a three-under 69 and is tied for 11th at four under, which leads all Canadians heading into Friday’s third round.
Veteran Lorie Kane of Charlottetown shot a one-over 73 on Thursday and is tied for 53rd at one over for the tournament.
The top 20 at Q-school will receive Category 12 status, the best available this week, while those finishing between 21st and 45th plus ties will receive Category 17 status.
