Maude-Aimee Leblanc of Sherbrooke Que., is doing what she needs to do with one round left to go at the Symetra Tour Championship in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Needing a victory in order to make it into the top 10 on the money list that graduate to the LPGA Tour, Leblanc went into Saturday’s third round tied for first, but moved two shots up on the rest of the field with an one-under 71 at LPGA International.
Leblanc leads at 11 under, but isn’t the only Canadian in the top 10 as Nicole Vandermade of Brantford, Ont., and Sara-Maud Juneau of Fossambault-sur-le-lac, Que., are tied for seventh at five under.
Vandermade shot a three-under 69 on Saturday, while Juneau finished with a one-under 71. Based on the money list coming into the Tour Championship, Vandermade needed a fourth place finish or better, while Juneau needed an 11th–place finish or better to crack the top 10.
