Raoul Menard of Granby, Que., shares the lead with Mark Blakefield of Maysville, Ky., and Kramer Hickok of Dallas, each at 11 under through two rounds at the National Capital Open to Support Our Troops in Ottawa.
Menard, a first-year Mackenzie Tour-PGA Tour Canada member, birdied his final two holes to finish the day with a seven-under 64 and tie for the lead.
“I’m new to the tour. There are a lot of guys that have already been here and it’s new to me, not only the courses, but getting used to the feeling of the tour and being comfortable playing here,” said Menard.
“I’m getting more and more comfortable and I want to compete. I know if I’m playing well, I can play with anyone,” he said.
Jared du Toit of Kimberley, B.C., is three shots off the lead in a tie for eighth after he posted a two-under 69 on Friday.
