Brooke Henderson of Smiths Falls, Ont., and Sue Kim of Langley, B.C., went into the second round of the U.S. Women’s Open tied and they came out the same way on Friday at Pinehurst No. 2.
Henderson, 16, and Kim, 23, are tied for 14th at four over after the first two days, eight shots behind leader Michelle Wie, who has a three-shot lead over Lexi Thompson. Wie and Thompson are the only players under par.
Henderson and Kim have posted identical 71-73s over the first two days, Henderson posting five bogeys and two birdies on Friday, while Kim had four bogeys and a birdie to also finish the day at three over.
Canadians Jessica Wallace, Rebecca Lee-Bentham and amateur Elizabeth Tong missed the cut.
