The two players with the best chance of getting full-time status on the LPGA Tour in 2014 held their own at the Symetra Tour Championship, but two other Canadians are also near the top of the leaderboard at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla.
Hamilton’s Alena Sharp, who was ninth on the Symetra Tour money list, shot a one-under 71 and is tied for 17th, four off the lead, while Sue Kim of Langley, B.C., who was ninth on the money list, had an even par 72 and is tied for 27th.

Angela Buzminski of Oshawa, Ont., is 53rd on that list, but leads all Canadians at the Tour Championship in a tie for eighth after shooting a two-under 70. Samantha Richdale of Kelowna, B.C., who was 25th on the money list, was tied with Sharp after her 71 on Thursday.

In Ponte Vedra, Fla., the hopes of a couple of Canadians to get off to a fast start at the WebDotCom Tour Championship didn’t happen as Brad Fritsch of Manotick, Ont., is at even par. and Adam Hadwin of Abbotsford, Ont., is one over.
Fritsch, who missed the cut in the first three events of the WebDotCom Finals, shot a 70 and is tied for 55th, seven off the lead, while Adam Hadwin of Abbotsford, B.C., shot a one-over 71 and is tied for 70th.
