It wasn’t enough to earn Brooke Henderson her second career victory, but her T3 finish at the Volvik LPGA Championship in Ann Arbor, Mich., showed promise.
“Yeah, overall it was a solid week.” said Henderson, who finished with a four-under 68 on Sunday.
“It’s always nice to see your name up near the top of the leaderboard and it’s been a few weeks since that happened for me, so (Sunday) was definitely a solid day for me,” she added.
Earlier this year, she had a streak of nine consecutive top-10 finishes, including eight on the LPGA Tour and one on the Ladies European Tour. The top-10 in Ann Arbor was her first in her last four starts.
Henderson birdied the fourth hole on Sunday, but came right back with a bogey on five. She made the turn at one under after a birdie on nine and added three more on back nine.
“I missed some opportunities, but I also made up for a couple here on the back nine, so overall I’m happy,” she said.
“There’s definitely things I have to work on going into next week, some silly mistakes early in the week and even today a couple, but overall, I’m very happy with how things are going and hopefully, just be able to finish it off in the near future,” said Henderson.
