For the second time in as many events, Graham DeLaet has withdrawn from the CIMB Classic, now underway in Kuala Lumpur.
DeLaet WD-ed from the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas in mid-October, saying at the time that he had tweaked his back the week before at the Frys.com Open.
DeLaet didn’t play at last week’s McGladrey Classic in Sea Island, Ga.
In January of 2011, DeLaet underwent surgery for a herniated disc that was pinching a nerve and causing pain in his legs and he missed most of that season.
As of this writing, there was no word on how this will affect DeLaet’s status for next week’s WGC-HSBC Champions event in China, which he originally planned to play.
DeLaet’s withdrawal leaves Mike Weir as the only Canadian in the field at the CIMB Classic, where Weir shot a one-over 73, which left him tied for 49th, eight shots off the lead.
