When we check GNN website analytics, our focus is typically short term, such as the numbers for a particular day, week or month to see how we’re doing, or we’ll check to see how much online traffic a specific story draws.
Steve Woods, who works behind the scenes at GNN, was checking some longer-term numbers for a project we’re working on and discovered a pleasant surprise on Friday afternoon.
About a month ago, we estimate, GNN had its one-millionth visit and, as of Friday, had reached 1,026,070, a significant milestone with a targeted, niche audience such as the Canadian golf industry, and a cause for us to say thank you to readers, advertisers and contributors for their continued support.
The million visits back up our claim to be the No. 1 source of golf trade news and opinion in Canada. No other trade publication in this country can claim to bring you that kind of readership, aided by our daily newsletter.
Our peak readership takes place at 8 a.m. Eastern time, about an hour after the newsletter arrives in that part of the country, but remains strong throughout the morning as more people in different time zones begin to click on and GNN adds more material throughout the day, with updates on Twitter and Facebook.
There’s a lot going on in the Canadian golf industry and GNN continues to post daily, which makes GNN not only a place to stop by in the morning, but also to keep an eye on throughout the day.
So, we’d better get back to the job at hand, but thank you to readers, advertisers and contributors for helping us to this significant milestone. It’s time to get back to working towards our second million.
