Victoria Golf Club is searching for a full time assistant service manager (ASM) to join its Links team.
Working within the Links department gives you a unique opportunity to work within a highly skilled team of professionals, making teamwork an important part of the position.
In 2016-17, the GCSAA and CGSA recognized service manager Yvon Jeaurond for his contributions, offering the successful applicant to learn alongside a nationally-recognized recognized mentor.
Founded in 1893 and located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, the private Victoria Golf Club overlooks the vast Olympic mountain range and Mt. Baker.
Under the direction of and reporting to the service manager, this position provides support services to the service manager and grounds staff.
The successful applicant will have:
A valid driver’s licence.
Minimum two-year certificate, apprenticeship or equivalent education.
Mechanics from the automotive industry as well as the turfgrass industry will be considered.
Preference to applicants with gas, diesel, hydraulic and electronic training and certification.
The successful applicant must be willing to mentor under our existing and soon to retire service manager for three to five years.
Mechanical aptitude, and a keen eye for detail. Looking out for any items requiring repair or improvement to ensure safe operation procedure is key to this position.
Extensive skill in Excel and record-keeping software.
Equipment repair and maintenance.
Maintaining a clean and professional appearance at all times.
Participate in employee orientation, equipment training and monthly staff/safety meetings.
Salary commensurate based on education and experience.
