Veteran Ontario golf professional Laurie Buckland has died after a brief battle with cancer. He was 64.
A private funeral will be held in Newmarket, Ont., and friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life at Wooden Sticks Golf Club in Uxbridge, Ont., where he served as director of golf, on Jan 19 from 1 to 4 p.m.
“Laurie was a friend to everyone he met and I believe we were all a little better for knowing him. He was an institution at Wooden Sticks and he will never be replaced, only fondly remembered,” said Wooden Sticks general manager/managing partner Greg Seemann.
