Vancouver’s Point Grey Golf and Country Club, about to begin a $6-million practice area project, the first of several upgrade projects over the next few years, is in need of a golf course superintendent.
Leading a team of highly capable grounds staff to realize the club’s mission and vision.
Spearheading high-profile, major projects from idea generation and .
proposal through to implementation.
Overseeing, monitoring and adhering to the course and project operational and capital budgets, taking corrective action when necessary.
Hiring, coaching and performance managing team to ensure highly productive and motivated staff.
Communicating regularly with leadership team, board and other stakeholders when necessary.
Sourcing, negotiating and coordinating all relationships with external vendors for projects or course maintenance, ensuring their work is in line with the club’s expectations, projects stay in scope and discrepancies are resolved.
Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and presentation.
Relevant education in agronomy or plant and soil science.
Experience leading and managing large teams of seasonal staff.
Project management experience.
Hardworking and committed to delivering a quality product.
Personal integrity and professional demeanour, inclusive and supportive attitude.
AGS, AAGS, MS, CGCS, CCM or commitment to professional development an asset.
