The Vancouver Golf Club in Coquitlam, B.C., is seeking a second assistant superintendent to join its turf management team.
Work experience in a private club environment is desired.
Minimum five years experience in turf maintenance.
Two or four-year turfgrass management diploma or degree.
Possess a strong work ethic and be able to lead by example.
Prior experience in a union environment would be an asset.
Knowledge of IPM and proper use of fertilizers and pesticides.
Thorough understanding of the game and rules of golf.
Knowledge of equipment operations and practices.
Strong understanding of irrigation scheduling, maintenance and repairs.
Toro SitePro/ Lynx experience would be an asset.
Experience with construction/ drainage.
Strong administrative skills.
Excellent supervisory and communication skills.
Keen eye for details.
Valid B.C. pesticide applicators licence or ability to promptly obtain one.
Good working knowledge of current WorkSafe BC regulations.
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Positive attitude and ability to demonstrate leadership and professionalism at all times.
