The Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Club is seeking an equipment manager who will be responsible for overseeing a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for all hotel vehicles and equipment.
This program includes the repair of failing equipment, keeping records of parts and labour needed to maintain each piece of equipment and placing orders for parts and supplies needed for equipment or service.
Consistently offer a professional, friendly greeting and engaging service.
Inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical defects/failures in various equipment including, diesel, electric and gasoline-powered vehicles, golf cart fleet, trucks, sweepers, mowers, and various other mechanical equipment used in utility work.
Create preventive maintenance programs on all equipment.
Grinds reels and rotary blades to high precision.
Prioritize equipment repair and maintenance work, ensuring repairs are done in a timely fashion to meet the guest needs.
Be responsible for inventory stocking, tracking and budgetary requirements of all shop equipment and supplies, including PPE.
Record equipment inputs per unit, tracking labour and part costs.
Do periodic in-field follow-up on equipment being used.
Oversee the compound and ensure and promote a crisp, cleaned, well-maintained organized facility.
Be responsible for the set up and testing of turf cultural equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum 5 years mechanic experience.
Working knowledge of light and heavy maintenance equipment and vehicles.
Skilled in the use of a variety of equipment repair tools and the making of various types of mechanical repair.
Working knowledge of the theory, care, and operation of internal combustion
engines and mowing equipment.
Knowledge of and/or ability to play the game of golf and understand how job
performance affects the playing conditions of the golf course.
Understands metal fabrication.
Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the profession.
High school diploma.
Class 5 drivers Licence.

Head Equipment Technician, Priddis Greens
Priddis Greens Golf and Country Club, located just outside Calgary, is looking for a head equipment technician to manage the fleet of golf course maintenance equipment, schedule and supervise two assistant equipment technicians, set up an equipment service plan and communicate with the golf course manager.
The current fleet of equipment at Priddis Greens is very modern. All mowing equipment is leased and under four years of age, the golf car fleet is one year old and, in general, the remainder of equipment is well maintained.
The Turf Care facility provides a comfortable and functional maintenance shop with adequate equipment storage and a healthy budget. The club has an experienced assistant equipment technician who is responsible for reel and rotary blade maintenance.
The head equipment technician will be included in the decision-making process for future equipment purchases and long range plans for the entire Turf Care Operations facility. The equipment technician will also be included in the Turf Care management team and will be required to attend regular management meetings for communication purposes.

Equipment Technician, Greywolf
Greywolf, in Invermere, B.C. is seeking an equipment technician, who is is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all turf equipment, 90 electric golf carts and year-round regular maintenance duties.
Knowledge of light and heavy maintenance equipment.
Hydraulic/electrical diagnosis and repair.
Basic computer knowledge, record-keeping skills.
Assist in operation of equipment training.
Maintaining safety as a top priority at all times.
Welding/fabricating abilities an asset.
Knowledge of reel set up/maintenance/grinding (training can be made available).
Reporting and keeping a constant open line of communication to the superintendent.
Turf technician or comparable mechanical certifications.
Five years experience minimum repairing/maintaining equipment.
Previous experience in the golf industry a major asset.
Excellent teamwork skills.
A constant positive attitude.
Valid B.C. Drivers Licence.
Compensation is $48,000-$54,000 based on experience. The position is full-time, year-round and includes benefits and golf privileges
