The St. Charles Country Club in Winnipeg is accepting applications for the position of equipment manager.
The club is entering the fourth year of a five-year lease cycle with Toro equipment and features 2007 Bernhard Dual Express Reel, Bedknife and Rotary blade grinders as well as a Trion Turf Lift.
Reporting to the golf course superintendent and working as a member of the management team of two assistant superintendents, irrigation technician and horticulturist, the equipment manager is a key member of the management team and will be looked upon as a leader both within the department and the club.
Maintain a preventative maintenance program for all large and small pieces of equipment to maximize operational efficiency and lifespan.
Maintain reels, bedknives and rotary cutting units to ensure optimum quality of cut is achieved at all times. Daily inspection of the golf course to ensure optimal quality of cut is a high priority.
Assessment and repair of any unexpected issues with all pieces of equipment.
Management of equipment repair and maintenance, fuel, filters, small equipment and hand tool budgets and inventories.
Participation and leadership with team training, health and safety programs and team meetings.
Assist the golf course superintendent with recommendations regarding equipment acquisition/replacement and any future maintenance facility upgrades.
All appropriate record keeping and associated reports regarding maintenance program, reel/bedknife ,anagement and budgetary/inventory records.
Maintain a clean and well-organized maintenance facility.
The successful application will be organized, self motivated and dedicated to keeping the club’s equipment fleet in optimal conditions at all times to provide the best possible playing conditions on the golf course.
Experience as a golf course equipment manager, assistant equipment manager or equivalent experience in equipment/automotive mechanics.
Degree, diploma or certificate from recognized golf equipment technician program is preferred.
Positive attitude and proven track record as a team player.
Possession of a Valid Manitoba driver’s Licence or ability to obtain.
