The Royal Mayfair Golf Club in Edmonton is seeking to fill the position of head professional/director of golf.
This role is a year-round position reporting to the general manager/COO and a member of the senior leadership team.
Royal Mayfair is looking for a highly service-oriented leader with a hands-on work ethic in which that person will foster and elevate a positive work environment, while ensuring the consistent and successful delivery of the member/guest experience while honouring the traditional values of the club.
The selected individual will be responsible for the overall health of the golf shop, member services and practice facility.
The successful candidate will report key aspects to the GM and fellow team members on a daily, weekly and monthly basis and react on changes required for direction of the business.
The creation and monitoring of goals and objectives through an annual budget and business plan is a key to success with this role.
Visibility and member/guest interaction is paramount to this role.
Empowering staff and management to ensure guest satisfaction is always high in all aspects of the operation.
Managing by walking around is mandatory. The successful candidate will ensure all aspects of the day-to-day operations are running at peak efficiency and to ensure the right staffing levels in this weather-dependent business.
People and Culture
This leadership role will be responsible in hiring all golf service roles within the club.
Building a knowledgeable, professional, engaged, creative and flexible team moving forward will be of utmost importance
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
CPGA Class A Golf Professional.
Business degree preferred.
Five years of relevant senior golf professional management experience.
Tournament and event experience required.
Teaching and golf academy development an asset.
Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for financial and operational results.
Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to go the extra mile in all aspects of the role.
A positive, customer service-oriented personality.
Working knowledge of computer systems, including MS Office.
Experience with Jonas operating systems or other related golf software/POS systems an asset.
Salary Range: $80,000 – $110,000. Group benefits and RRSP programs.
