Quilchena Golf and Country Club in Richmond, B.C., is in need of an assistant superintendent.
Minimum five years golf course maintenance experience.
Turf management education from a recognized program.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Experience assigning and supervising daily tasks to ensure high standards are met.
Complete understanding of cultural practice methods and procedures.
Knowledge of irrigation troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance.
Understanding of irrigation scheduling practices and requirements for various turf and soil conditions.
TORO SitePro experience would be an asset.
Thorough understanding of drainage system design and maintenance.
Understanding of IPM and Audubon practices.
Knowledge of equipment maintenance practices.
Experience in interviewing, hiring and scheduling maintenance staff.
Strong record keeping skills.
Thorough understanding of budgeting development and monitoring practices.
Union and collective bargaining experience would be an asset.
Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude.
Thorough understanding of the game and rules of golf.
Valid BC pesticide licence or the ability to promptly obtain one.
