Devon Smith is the new director of tournament operations for the PGA of Ontario.
Smith, 27, graduated from the Sports Event and Marketing program at Toronto’s George Brown College in Decmber, 2012, after spending most of the year interning at the PGA of Canada, as an assistant to Adam LeBrun, that organization’s managing director of championships and events.
“I really enjoyed working at the PGA of Canada events and tournaments in 2012 and learned a lot about what goes into coordinating a first-class professional event for the members,” said Smith.
Smith will be responsible for coordinating tournament set-up and tear-down, working with member clubs on event days and assisting with registration, as well as social media.
The PGA of Ontario will hold more than 30 tournaments this year.
