Oakdale Golf and Country Club in northwest Toronto is seeking an equipment technician/golf course mechanic.
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, reliable and hardworking individual who will be hands-on and coordinate with the golf course superintendent for maintenance, set-up and repair of all turf equipment and vehicles used by course staff.
The mechanic will report directly to the golf course superintendent and work in cooperation with the assistant superintendents.
This is a full-time, year-round position which offers a competitive compensation and benefit package.
Small and large engine repair.
Sharpening and grinding of reels/bedknives.
Servicing of hydraulic and electrical systems.
The mechanic is also responsible for preventative maintenance programs, minor fabrication, maintaining service records and parts inventory and ensuring the service department is kept in a clean and organized manner.
Knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Must be available to work early mornings.
Good communication and organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
