Gary Boyce has been named head golf professional at Magna Golf Club in Aurora, Ont.
Boyce will handle responsibilities previously held by Chris Dyke, who has moved to The Summit in Richmond Hill, Ont., including day-to-day operation of the pro shop and golf services and execution of club championships and seasonal member events.
After eight years assisting Gar Hamilton at Mississaugua Golf and Country Club in Mississauga, Ont., and successfully revamping their member service model, Boyce sought a new challenge.
In 2008, he moved north to Muskoka and was and was part of the launch of Nick Faldo’s signature Canadian design, The Rock.
After three years as The Rock’s head professional, he took on another start-up golf operation and moved to Oak Bay Golf and Country Club in Port Severn, Ont.
“I feel Gary’s experiences have given him a sound perspective of the golf industry.” said Magna general manager and executive professional Rob Roxborough.
“Working at such large and active golf clubs has also given him a keen awareness of what it takes to provide an enjoyable, professional, and service-orientated environment for the members and guests of Magna Golf Club,” added Roxborough.
