Edmonton’s Glendale Golf and Country Club is seeking a golf course superintendent to become an integral part of its management team and replace Daryl Asher, who recently retired after 30-plus years.
Ensuring delivery of optimal playing conditions throughout the facility to a discerning membership.
Organizing, supervising and participating in daily operations of the golf course.
Ensuring proper supervision, scheduling and training of the year-round and seasonal maintenance staff.
Ensuring best practices are in place and followed for safety, equipment training and record-keeping.
Working with the GM/COO to produce annual operating budgets.
Working with the GM/COO to develop short and long-term goals for golf course enhancements.
Working with the GM/COO and mechanic to maintain annual capital equipment replacement budgets for all course-related equipment.
A proven track record managing turf operations at a premier facility.
A four-year degree and or a two-year diploma in turfgrass management or related degree.
Strong Agronomic background with experience managing bentgrass/poa annua greens.
A valid pesticide applicator’s licence.
Experience supervising and organizing year-round and seasonal staff.
Excellent team leader with strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire staff.
A self-motivated, hardworking individual with a professional image.
Enjoys and plays the game of golf.
Excellent computer and presentation skills and ability to communicate at a very high level.
CGSA and/or CGSAA member and involved in association.
Ability to deliver extraordinary service to members, guests and employees.
Salary will be based on experience.
