Peter Smith has been named director of golf operations for the Fairmont Hot Springs Resort located in the Columbia Valley of British Columbia.
Smith will be responsible for golf operations at the resorts’s two championship courses – Mountainside and Riverside – and the nine-hole Creekside course.
Smith is a former director of golf at Greywolf in Panorama and was head professional and managed The Springs Golf and Country Club in Radium, B.C. He was named 2005 BCPGA Golf Professional of the Year.
“I’m very happy to have the opportunity to stay in the Columbia Valley, but also to have the chance to take on the challenge of uniting two championship courses under on banner,” said Smith.
“This season will be very busy as we work to change the face of both the courses and the supporting facilities,” he added.
