The Canadian PGA has announced the 2009 recipients of scholarships to encourage and promote the education goals for sons, daughters and grandchildren of association members who have displayed high levels of academic achievement and contributions to their communities.
For the first time since the program began, the Canadian PGA has also offered members, apprentices and candidates enrolled in continuing education, either part-time or full-time, the opportunity to apply for scholarships.
The following are the 2009 recipients:
Kendra Morrow, daughter of Ken Morrow of Outlook, Sask.
Alexandra Dozzi, daughter of Mark Dozzi of Sudbury, Ont.
Danielle Ludeman, daughter of Mark Ludeman of Edmonton,
Shauna Panton, daughter of Randall Panton of Creston, B.C.
Kristen Sovereign, daughter of Rick Sovereign of Mississauga, Ont.
Kyle Paquette, Canadian PGA Apprentice at Idylwylde Golf and Country Club in Sudbury, Ont.
Alex Riggs, Canadian PGA Apprentice at Saskatoon (West) Golf & Country Club in Saskatoon (part-time recipient)
Eric Thorsteinson, Canadian PGA member and head professional at Black Mountain Golf in Kelowna, B.C. (part-time recipient)
