Phil Rankin has joined the eQuinelle Golf Club in Kemptville, Ont., as head professional.
Rankin, a former director of operations at various ClubLink facilities, brings with him experience in teaching, merchandising and business-building.
“This is an amazing golf course and is on track to becoming one of Ontario’s finest premium golf facilities,” said Rankin.
“My goal is to create an enjoyable golf experience that members and guests will be proud to say happens at eQuinelle, their home for golf,” he added.
Rankin worked for ClubLink for 16 years and spent time at Greystone Golf Club (Milton, Ont.), Kanata Golf and Country Club (Kanata, Ont.), and Eagle Creek Golf Club (Dunrobin, Ont.).
“I’m very excited to have Phil come on board as the head professional at eQuinelle this season,” said Katharine Usher-Vollett, General Manager of eQuinelle.
“His skills and experience that he brings to the club in the way of expanding on our golf academy and member programs will bring the club to an entire new level in the Ottawa golf market,” added Usher-Vollett.
TMSI Sports Management, the company that operates the golf club on behalf of the ownership group, also emphasized the importance of having an industry veteran join eQuinelle.
“Phil’s years of experience and professionalism are an asset to TMSI and we’re very happy to have him join our team,” said vice president Rob Knights.
“His appointment as head professional at eQuinelle will enhance and build on what Katharine and the rest of her team have already accomplished there, pushing the golf club to the next level,” he added.
Rankin will be responsible for overseeing the golf operations of the club and conducting lessons at a new golf academy he is set to introduce this spring.
“With the focus on the golf academy as well as guest services, 2014 promises to be a fun, busy and successful golf season,” said Rankin.
