Larry Longo is leaving the Golf Association of Ontario next week after 10 years with the association.
Longo has worked as the GAO’s tournament manager since early 2005, overseeing various managerial aspects of provincial championships, including websites, courses and administrative set-up and helping organize event volunteers.
Longo has spent the majority of his life in the golf Industry, including time at the PGA of Canada. He has been a professional, director of rules and officiating and worked in wholesale golf sales, among other positions.
“Working for the GAO has been a great part of my career. It has completed my full cycle in the industry. I’d like to thank all of the staff at the GAO, especially Dave Colling,” said Longo.
“He has guided me through almost my entire career. It is hard to describe how much he has helped me throughout the years. I’d also like to thank all of the volunteers for all of their efforts. It really is amazing what they do for the GAO,” he added.
Longo has decided to leave the golf industry to pursuit new challenges and to spend more time with his family.
