The Nike Golf Head to Head Challenge continues Saturday at Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham, Ont.
Nike Golf’s on-site brand ambassadors and technical reps will individually fit golfers with innovative 2014 Nike clubs, footwear, balls, wedges and putters.
Canadian golfers at the Nike Golf Head to Head Challenge will experience Enhanced Cavity Back technology in the VRS Covert 2.0 line of clubs, proprietary Lunarlon technology in footwear, Speedlock RZN Core technology in its new family of golf balls, and X3X Groove technology in Nike’s new wedges.
“At the Nike Golf Head to Head Challenge, golfers can see, feel and experience new Nike innovations for 2014 that are creating exceptional buzz and winning professional tournaments around the world,” said Tyler Keenan, director of marketing for Nike Golf Canada.
After Saturday’s stop at Angus Glen, the Head to Head Challenge will continue on the range at RattleSnake Point Golf Club in Milton, Ont., the following Saturday.
PGA Tour Canada in Victoria
The Bayview Place Island Savings Open takes place at Uplands Golf Club n Victoria this week, when several Vancouver Island players will be among the 32 Canadians in the field.
That list includes Cory Renfrew, Kevin Carrigan, Uplands club champion Brock Olson, Ollympic View head professional Kevin Maxwell, former University of Victoria player Mitch Evanecz and Riley Wheeldon of Comox, B.C.
Mitch Sutton of London, Ont., along with Evanecz, who is from Red Deer, Alta., received sponsor’s exemptions given to former or current members of Golf Canada’s national amateur team.
Also given a sponsor’s exemption is former PGA Tour player Jon Mills of Belleville, Ont.
Canadians Stuart Anderson and Kevin Stinson each shot 69s to make it into the tournament through Monday qualifying.
The Champ Heads To Victoria
Ted Brown of Peterborough, Ont., will be teeing it up in Victoria after winning the Sedgefield Classic in Greensboro, N.C., last week on the eGolf Tour.
Brown shot rounds of 64-65-69 to finish 12 under for the event, four shots ahead of his closest competitor to win $14,000.
