The North Battleford Golf and Country Club in North Battleford, Sask., is now accepting applications for the assistant superintendent position.
The golf course completed the installation of automated Toro (Lynx) irrigation system in 2010 and recently completed a long-range masterplan designed by Gary Browning Design.
The successful applicant will be highly motivated, goal oriented and dedicated to achieving success in turfgrass management.
The assistant will report directly to the superintendent and will play a key role in the turf management team. The successful applicant will have:
Aminimum of four years turf maintenance experience.
Good supervisory, training and coaching skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
A familiarity with automated irrigation.
A familiarity with fertilizers and pesticides as well as calibration.
A strong understanding of cultural practices and their effect on the game of golf.
A pesticide applicators certificate or ability to obtain one.
A desire to learn and lead.
This is a nine month position (March 1-Nov.30) with potential to become year round. The assistant position is a key component in NBGCC’s succession plan.
