A research document released by the USGA and R&A shows driving distance on five of seven tours increased by 1.2 per cent, or 0.2 yards per year, between 2003 and 2016.
Over that same period, average driving distance actually decreased 1.5 per cent on the other two tours.
Average launch conditions have remained relatively stable since 2007, according to the report.
Will Gray of the Golf Channel, however, isn’t buying into the report. Read his take here.
