Chris Sorensen takes a look here at that issue here in Maclean’s, which also offers this fly-over of Toronto to illustrate a glut of golf courses … As Brad Ziemer of the Vancouver Sun points out in this story, a buyers’ market exists for greens fees in that city … The Calgary Herald reports here that a golf course employee saved a man’s life when he lost control of a minivan and ended up in a pond at one of the golf courses there … Also in Calgary, McCall Lake golf course may have escaped closure, but a city official says it still needs to improve traffic, according to this story by Bryan Weismiller of Metro News … A warning has been issued in Victoria, B.C., about hemlock taking root in that area. Not only is it potentially fatal to humans and animals if ingested, but gloves and protective clothing are needed for anybody removing it. The Times Colonist has the story here.
