Kokanee Springs Golf Resort in Crawford Bay, B.C., is seeking a director of golf.
Reporting directly to the general manager, the successful candidate will oversee all golf-related functions at Kokanee Springs Golf Resort. This includes planning and organization of events such as tournaments and clinics, as well as maintaining the high-standard expected in the golfing experience at the resort.
The director of golf will also oversee the operation of the pro shop and associated activities such as cart rentals, driving range and short game practice facility.
Knowledge of basic accounting and merchandising are needed to supervise the operation of the pro shop so that it meets the needs of members and is financially successful. Supervision of pro shop staff is required.
The director of golf will work with all levels of management to facilitate the continuous improvement of the facilities and customer service and promote the reputation of the organization. Other duties will be assigned as necessary.

Supervision of all golf-related functions at the resort.
Assist the general manager in preparing the annual budget for approval by the board.
Manage the pro shop, maintain financial records and supervise staff.
Decide on appropriate merchandise for the pro shop and order adequate stock levels.
Supervise staff and oversee maintenance and rental of golf carts.
Recruit, interview, hire and supervise employees in accordance with relevant federal and provincial laws.
Oversee golf school and develop curriculum and revamp as required.
Work with other managers and attend management meetings to determine policy scope and activities of the property.
Plan and coordinate events such as tournaments and clinics in co-operation with other managers at the resort.
Enforce the rules and regulations of the golf course as they currently exist, or as they may hereafter be modified or amended and develop a policy of reporting violations by golfers, members or guests.
Develop, implement and review on an annual basis the policies and procedures affecting the orderly operation of the golf facilities and equipment.
Participate in the preparation, implementation, and long range planning for improvements to the facility, based on customer feedback.
The director of golf is encouraged to participate in community and civic affairs of the golf course.
When necessary, he or she will resolve customer complaints to the customer’s satisfaction in a timely manner using patience and diplomacy.
Ensure each customer receives exceptional “Customer First” service by providing a customer-friendly environment.
Perform any other duties as necessary.
Completion of high school and College/CEGEP/vocational or technical training.
Post-secondary degree/diploma related to golf course operations. A degree is preferred.
PGA of Canada Class A certification required.
Demonstrated service orientation. Management experience required.
Extensive knowledge of golf.

Basic office administration skills.
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office.
