Kelowna Springs Golf Club, a semi-private golf course in Kelowna, B.C., is seeking a golf course superintendent.
Responsible for the operation of the golf course maintenance department, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Turf grass/plant material maintenance programs.
Property asset management (equipment, buildings, inventories).
Budget financial management.
Scheduling/maintenance of irrigation systems.
Pesticide applications (including related recordings and compliance of regulatory issues).
Provide agronomic direction for the healthy growth of the golf course grasses, trees, and plantings.
Supervise the safe use and maintenance of the golf course mechanical equipment.
Supervise and control all expenses associated with golf course operations.
Report to and interact with the golf professional and general manager to maximize the number of rounds played.
Schedule maintenance practices around member play, historical peak play periods and other events to maximize all efficiencies possible.
Provide technical, operational and safety training for employees. Partner with all staff to provide high levels of service to all customers.
The successful applicant will be an outgoing, confident leader with a respectful, humble and grounded approach in all of his/her dealings with staff, management, members and public golfers.
Five-plus years of golf course maintenance experience (and two-plus minimum in a supervisory role).
Minimum two year College Agronomy Degree preferred.
Pesticide applicator’s licence and valid driver’s licence.
