By Water, By Air: Cobble Beach, near Owen Sound, Ont., has made itself accessible by boat and seaplane with the launch of a new 260-foot floating day dock.
“This is one of the largest day docks in the area and we are very excited to provide a new recreational and commercial destination to communities around Georgian Bay and beyond,” said Rob McLeese, president and owner of Cobble Beach.
The new dock will welcome vessels of various styles and sizes, with depths ranging from 5.5 to 11.5 feet.
The dock took almost nine months to complete and cost more than $350,000. It’s built to withstand the high winds on Georgian Bay.
Kids Golf Free: ClubLink has announced that kids can golf for free when accompanied by an adult on the Challenge and Classic courses at Rolling Hills Golf Club in Stouffville, Ont.
“For years, we have offered our ClubLinksters program at our clubs and have strongly supported Golf Canada’s Future Links program and the Canadian Junior Golf Association,” said Tim Green, executive director of sales and marketing.
“This program is a great opportunity for parents to introduce their children to golf at no cost,” he added
Anyone 18 years of age or younger can golf for free Monday through Friday until Aug. 31 when playing with a paying adult 19 years of age or older.
The program also extends to junior guests (18 or younger) of ClubLink members who are 19 or older. The offer is limited to one junior per paying adult or ClubLink member.
To launch the program, there will be a free junior instruction clinic hosted by PGA of Canada teaching professional Ben Gross at nearby Station Creek Golf Club from 7-8 p.m. on Monday, July 9.
