Glencoe is a 45-hole private golf club located just outside South West Calgary. In 2015, membership has 45 holes back in play for an entire season, the first since 2010.
To care and condition the property, we need the 160-piece plus fleet of mostly 2013 model Toro equipment in optimum condition.
As a part of this fleet there are 162 reels which will require a whatever-it-takes approach to provide cutting performance all season long.
The top priority number is to assemble the best possible management nucleus. This team will lead the maintenance team of 90 to 100 in conditioning of and caring for the property to the highest of standards feasible for daily play.
The areas of focus may include:
Reel, bedknife and rotary maintenance .
Weekly reporting and attending management team meetings.
Daily inspection of quality of cut out in the field.
Leadership roles with team orientation and training sessions, OH&S program.
Involvement with, as time allows, equipment repair and servicing.
Assist in equipment work bay area Improvement plans, short and long term.
Assist in equipment fleet acquisition plans, short and long term.

Minimum of five years experience as a golf course equipment manager and/or assistant and/or in the field of equipment/machinery/automotive.
Degree, diploma or certificate, Red Seal Trade from a recognized institution.

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada and a criminal background check will be conducted on all applicants we interview.
The Successful Candidate will work alongside the current equipment manager, report to the superintendent, and will be an integral part of the management team.

Golf Course Superintendent, Revelstoke Golf Club, Revelstoke, B.C.
The Revelstoke Golf Club is offering a career opportunity for an individual to oversee the operations of an 18-hole semi private golf course, including two practice greens, one chipping green, driving range, and restaurant.
The Revelstoke Golf club is currently working towards improving their facilities and service components and, as a result, is seeking a highly-motivated individual to join its management team.
This is an eight-month position, starting April 1.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the golf course maintenance team in all aspects of the golf course and property maintenance operations.
The successful candidate will work closely with the club’s director of golf in preparing operational plans and budgets for the various maintenance components of the operation.
Responsibilities/duties required (but not limited to):
A degree or diploma in turf management from a recognized institution.
All golf course and grounds maintenance/landscaping.
Working cooperatively to remain within set budgets.
Experience in a supervisory role as part of a successful turf care team.
Supervise the repair, maintenance and operation of turf equipment and golf cart fleet.

In this management role, the incumbent will be working closely with the superintendent and another assistant superintendent to achieve the best possible playing conditions on a daily basis.
Duties will include, but not be limited to, training, scheduling and supervision of seasonal staff, fertilizer and pesticide application, IPM record keeping, enforcement of the club’s Health and Safety Policy, irrigation repair and installation, hand watering, sod repair, tree pruning and removal.
Two to three years of experience in golf course maintenance, showing progressive responsibility.
Graduate or enrolled in a recognized turfgrass management diploma or degree program.
Valid landscape exterminators’ licence.
IPM accreditation would be an asset.
Completion of an accredited chainsaw safety course, or willing to attain.
Complete knowledge of IPM principles, including record keeping and desk review preparation and submission.
Thorough knowledge of sprayer calibration, operation and application.
Thorough knowledge of irrigation principles including operation, repair, and installation.
Valid Ontario driver’s licence.
Above average time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated, able to work effectively under pressure.

Responsible for the upkeep and improvement of the state of the art Rainbird irrigation system. This will include the following:
Insure effective workings of all related Irrigation system parts.
Responsible for the keeping of a detailed list of Irrigation inventory.
Operation of Irrigation computerized central control, and field satellites.
Ability to diagnose irrigation related turf decline and implement strategies.
Daily irrigation central control set up.
