The National Golf Course Owners Association Canada will host its Golf Business Canada Conference and Trade Show his weekend at the Westin Ottawa and Shaw Convention Centre and the NGCOA is reporting a new attendance record.
“We surpassed our previous attendance record three weeks ago and we’ll continue getting more delegates right up until the conference’s last day” said NGCOA CEO Jeff Calderwood.
“The trade show sold out earlier than we ever have. I think those are great indications of the direction that the Canadian golf business is now headed and the value that this conference delivers,” he added.
The Golf Business Canada Conference and Trade Show kicks off with the Canadian Golf Tourism Summit on Saturday morning, followed by an agenda of keynotes, breakout sessions, trade show, and social functions.
Topics include everything from marketing to business succession to the impact of marijuana legislation on staff and customers.
The line-up of speakers is drawn from across Canada as well as Europe, Australia and the United States. Highlights include the Great Canadian Idea Fair and the Golf Business Canada Town Hall, both being staples of the event since it was introduced in 2001.

“Although the structured content of the conference is exceptional, we always get hundreds of testimonials raving about the networking value and how much they love our social events. This year’s opening ceception is themed around Canada’s 150th, with everyone wearing red and white,” said NGCOA COO and conference director Nathalie Lavallée.
“The main gala dinner celebrates the NGCOA Canada’s 25th Anniversary with lots of live entertainment and a Roaring 20s party. It will be an amazing experience for everyone and then there are numerous after-parties organized out on the town,” she added.
Delegates will also win great prizes drawn throughout the conference, including a $5,000 Best Buy Gift Certificate courtesy of Tee-On, a Melia all-Inclusive Golf Resort Package, a St Kitts Golf package with airfare for two and a NHL Game Day Experience, courtesy of Coca-Cola.
