Fox Harb’r, near Wallace, N.S., is seeking an assistant golf professional.
Reporting to the head golf professional, the selected candidate will have a strong passion for the industry, showing charisma and energy that overflows into how he/she leads and motivates other staff.
To act as the head golf professional in the head professional’s absence.
To assist with the hiring, training, scheduling and supervision of golf operations staff.
To periodically report to the head professional with performance evaluations of golf operations staff.
To execute daily operations that include, but are not limited to opening for business, taking reservations, receiving green fees, selling, merchandising, assisting with backshop duties, starting, marshaling, teaching, closing and end of day reconciliation.
To assist the head professional in the management of the golf shop. This includes, but is not limited to, receiving inventory, data entry, pricing, merchandising, re-stocking, inventory tracking and report generating.
To assist the head professional in the execution of golf tournaments and special events. This includes, but is not limited to, event scheduling, creating a draw, rules, cart staging, golf course preparation, bag tags, starting, marshalling, scoring and prize presentations.
To be ready and available to teach golf lessons as requested.
To be up to date with the latest trends and technology available in the golf industry.
To continue with training and education that will improve your overall ability to perform the above-outlined duties.
To represent Fox Harb’r Resort with high standards and professionalism at golf tournaments and other corporate outings.
Work within a team environment.
PGA of Canada professional in good standing.
Knowledge of club fitting.
Excellent customer service skills.
Attention to details.
Willingness to learn.
Above average computer skills.
Excellent employee relations.
Strong team building skills.
Weekly salary is $500 to $600 based on experience, plus a percentage for private, semi-private instruction. An equipment package is available.
