The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge Golf Club is seeking a golf course superintendent to keep conditions up to the standards of a renowned Canadian resort and provide guests with a memorable experience, while reporting to the director of golf.
Consistently offer professional, engaging and friendly service.
Responsible for the operation of the golf course maintenance department.
All aspects of the maintenance and care of the golf course area are looked after to meet or exceed Fairmont standards.
Control and forecast all expenses associated with the golf maintenance operation.
Plan and budget for additional or replacement capital equipment.
All aspects of colleague management, including the recruiting, training, mentoring and evaluations.
Provide technical, operational and safety training for employees.
Supervise the application and recording of chemical applications.
Supervise operation of the equipment repair area.
Participate with sales and public relations initiatives in order to maximize the selling and promotional opportunities available to the resort.
Interact with the golf professional to maximize the number of rounds of golf played and to schedule maintenance practices to maximize efficiencies.
Establish short and long term plans for the golf course.
Will play a key role in the relationship with Parks Canada.
Adhere to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles.
Follow all safety and sanitation policies.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum three years experience as a golf course superintendent required.
Member in good standing of the Canadian Golf Superintendents Association.
Valid driver’s licence required.
First aid certification an asset.
Pesticide applicators license required.
Strong leadership skills.
Proficient computer skills.
Communicates comfortably and professionally within a corporate environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities.
Highly responsible and reliable.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision.
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
