The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is seeking a director of golf.
Reporting to the General Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Consistently offer and build a service culture based on professional, engaging and friendly service.
Work closely with the FRHI’s executive director, golf, regarding golf standards, talent recruitment, development, retention and strategic golf brand development.
Responsible for golf operation in its entirety, as well as hotel grounds department.
Responsible for golf and grounds annual budgets and financial results, as well as capital expenditures/improvements.
Lead by planning, communicating, training and executing all standards in a timely and efficient manner.
Ensure effective hiring, training, coaching, counseling and performance management is in place for all levels of colleagues.
Ensure all levels of colleagues are assigned appropriate work specific to functions and tasks, while holding all accountable to set expectations.
Develop and execute the golf marketing and media plans, in conjunction with the director, sales and marketing.
Meet with members, guests, various groups and FAM/sites during visits to the golf course.
Responsible for golf lessons, golf clinics and golf tournaments.
Develop and maintain a cooperative working relationship with community/regional members and be an innovative leader within the golf industry.
Active member of FJPL’s senior leadership team.
Previous experience, at least five years, in the golf industry is required.
Previous experience as a director of golf in a similar establishment is required.
Diploma/degree within golf management or a related field is required.
Must be a member in good standing with the PGA of Canada.
Computer literate, with Microsoft Office, Point of Sales system, Retail Inventory, Tee Time Reservations, etc.
Experience within various golf course operations is preferred (ie. resort, semi-private, private).
Proven ability within golf retail.
Proven leadership abilities.
Strong business acumen with demonstrated skills.
Must be polished and professional with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated passion for guest service and exceeding expectations.
