The City of Brantford in Southern Ontario requires a supervisor of grounds maintenance on a two-year contract for its golf operations.
The supervisor of grounds maintenance will be responsible for turf grass and plant material maintenance programs, personnel management, scheduling and maintenance of irrigation systems, pesticide applications and their related recordings and compliance of regulatory issues.
The supervisor is also responsible for developing and overseeing a maintenance master plan and providing agronomic direction for two golf course operations.
The successful applicant will also communicate with all golf staff regarding daily activities and promote a team approach.
Applicants must have successfully completed a community college diploma in agronomy or turf management and have a minimum of three years previous experience in the golf industry in a supervisory role.
A valid Ontario landscape exterminators licence and I.P.M. accreditation is required. Proven excellent customer service skills and flexibility in work schedule including evenings and weekends are essential.
A valid G Ontario driver’s licence in good standing is required. As a condition of employment, successful candidate must submit a current Police Clearance Certificate (dated within the last three months) from their local police service for approval by the corporation.
The wage range is $25.220 to $28.023 per hour, based on a 40-hour work week.
