The Caulfeild Apparel Group Ltd. will take a new role in the green grass golf business for the 2015 golf season after negotiating a strategic alliance with Dunning Golf.
“For 2015, we will partner with one national sales representative, and support that sales representative with our best of class support network to deliver Dunning Golf to the Canadian golf consumer,” said president Michael Purkis.
“Through this partnership, we will be able to deliver a consistent, best of class sales, service, and most importantly product,” he added.
As for other brands, Purkis says Abacus is currently negotiating with new partners for both Canada, and the United States.
“We are confident that they will communicate to you within the next two weeks of their plans. They have been a great partner to us, and we wish them continued success with this awesome brand,” said Purkis, adding that changes are coming with Pukka, as well.
Pukka is going to be taking their operations back south of the border and will operate Canada as a division of their total business. They will have a country manager in place and will make that announcement within the next two weeks,” said Purkis.
Caulfeild will continue to sell and ship all orders for its golf brands until December 31 and Purkis said to expect no change in that time.
Caulfeild has been in business since 1886 and we have a bright future ahead of us. Over the last 128 years, we have learned that evolution is a key part of our growth and success and this is one more stage of that evolution,” said Purkis.
“I would like to thank you our valued partners for all of their support over the years and know that we will remain in contact,” he added.
Caulfeild also announced a new partnership with Tyler McDannold who will manage business development for Dunning Golf.
Purkis says the hiring of McDannold as national sales representative it is a significant addition to Caulfeild’s strategic approach to the green grass business, adding he grew up in golf with his father, Rob McDannold, a long time member of the PGA of Canada.
“When we were looking for the right individual to tell the Dunning Golf story across Canada, Tyler was a natural fit. His love for the game and his experience in the Canadian Golf market enables him to understand and promote the Dunning Golf brand,” said Purkis.
“There is no doubt he is set for success,” he said.
“With Dunning Golf’s tagline Engineered For Athletes – Designed For Players we could not have found a better face for the brand in the Canadian marketplace,” added divisional manager Lauren Purkis.
“We are very excited to support Tyler through his quest to build Dunning Golf with our customers,” she added.
