Edmonton’s Blackhawk Golf Club is in need of a golf course superintendent.
A four-year degree and/or a two-year diploma in turf grass management or a related degree.
A proven track record managing turf operations.
Experience in the superintendent or first assistant position at a premier facility.
Ability to lead the turfgrass team in providing outstanding playing surfaces.
Willingness to execute directions given by club Management and course architect regarding desired playing conditions etc.
Must be highly detail orientated.
CGSA and or CGSAA member.
Valid pesticide applicator’s licence.
Ensure the delivery of quality playing conditions to a demanding membership.
Preparation and management of the annual operating budget.
Supervising the maintenance and repair of all golf course-related equipment, including power cart fleet.
Provide leadership and management to department supervisors and seasonal course maintenance staff.
Blackhawk is governed solely by its founders PVWP Golf Management Ltd. The successful applicant will report directly to president and managing partner, Al Prokop. The club does not have a board of directors or committees of any description.
Remuneration package will reflect the scope of the position, accompanying responsibility and applicant experience.
Start Date: January 2014.
