TaylorMade Golf has introduced Phenom, a set of clubs designed and engineered to support junior golfers with proper swing fundamentals through proper lengths, weights and lofts, allowing for shots from tee to green with consistent distance gapping throughout the set.
For each club in the set, the shafts have been both flex and weight-optimized and made to appropriate lengths, while the grips have been developed to meet the needs of smaller hands, allowing proper feel throughout the swing.
The Phenom driver is a 400 c.c. titanium driver designed at the USGA limit of COR and built for distance, forgiveness and easy launch technology in a visually appealing design.
The Phenom fairway wood features a stainless steel head with a low profile, low centre of gravity design, providing technology to help junior golfers get the ball airborne off the tee or from the fairway.
A larger head size adds forgiveness and promotes confidence at address.
Similar to the fairway wood, the Phenom Rescue club features a stainless steel head design. Designed to be easy to launch with long distance, the versatile Rescue will also help bridge the gap between a player’s fairway wood and irons.
Perimeter weighted heads highlight the Phenom irons and wedge. Forgiving performance with generous offset assist in squaring the face at impact, enabling high and straight shots with greater accuracy.
The multi-functional sole design aids in easy playability from a variety of lies and turf conditions.
The Phenom putter is a face-balanced, centre-shafted mallet that has been designed for easy alignment and a soft, solid feel at impact.
Heel-toe weighting is used to deliver forgiveness on mis-hits, while the grip was specially-designed to promote stability. Rounding out the set, the ultra-lightweight stand bag features dual ergonomic straps, premium materials and ample storage.
TaylorMade Golf Canada Partners With Take A Kid To The Course
TaylorMade has partnered with the National Golf Course Owners Association Canada to support the Take a Kid To The Course program. This program is a national initiative designed to encourage junior and family golf.
A portion of the proceeds from all Phenom junior set sales will be donated to Take a Kid To The Course to increase junior golf participation. In 2015, over 680 courses participated in the Take a Kid To The Course program.
“The NGCOA Canada is thrilled to partner with TaylorMade-adidas Golf Canada. Take A Kid To The Course is the largest family-focused golf initiative in Canada. Each year, over 60,000 adults and juniors participate in the program. TaylorMade’s support of Take A Kid To The Course will allow the NGCOA Canada to expand the program in 2016, creating more opportunity for families to golf together. Take A Kid To The Course launches July 4th at over 700 NGCOA Canada member golf clubs across Canada, said Jeff Calderwood, CEO of NGCOA Canada.
David Bradley, managing director of TaylorMade-adidas Golf Canada and Latin America says it offers the company a perfect opportunity to get involved with junior golf development.
“We look forward to working with the NGCOA to help increase overall junior golf participation, and in turn bring this game with so many benefits to junior golfers and families across Canada,” said Bradley.
