The new O-Works Red and O-Works Black Putters from Odyssey were driven by feedback from company staffers, some players preferring a clean, simple look at address, and a number of them asking to test models with a red finish and Microhinge insert technology.
The stainless steel Microhinge plate is co-molded into a Thermoplastic Elastomer Feel Layer, to provide enhanced feel and get the ball into a better roll at impact.
Microhinge insert technology began rolling on was tour when Phil Mickelson put it into play at the 2016 Ryder Cup, with its focus on the effect of the insert and getting the ball into a better roll at impact.
The O-Works Red includes head shapes such as the renowned 2-Ball and the #7. Odyssey is also introducing an alternative on the #7 model, featuring a short slant neck hosel to promote more toe hang, a trend the company is seeing recently with its pros.
The O-Works Black introduces an lineup of new head shapes, including the #3T, a short slant neck version of the #7 head, and a centre-shafted #2 mallet shape.
The O-Works Red and O-Works Black will be available in retail on August 4.
