Nike Golf says its new Verdana club set for women is the lightest ever produced by the company to deliver faster swing speeds and better control.
The Verdana set includes 11 clubs, including driver, three wood, four to six hybrids, seven iron through pitching wedge, sand wedge and putter, as well as a matching carry bag.
“The set was designed specifically for female athletes looking to maximize distance and control,” said Nike director of club product creation Tom Stites. “With this ultra-light set, slower swing speeds can now gain more distance without sacrificing control the course demands.”
The light Verdana driver has a 460 c.c. head, designed with additional loft for higher trajectory. The 18-degree three wood features a low centre of gravity in a large breadth profile for forgiveness and easier ball striking.
The hybrids have wide soles and deeper iron-like faces with a slight offset for forgiveness from a variety of angles and lies. Iron and wedges have a wider sole design, larger face profiles and variable face thickness to add distance.
The Verdana putter is a heel-toe weighted blade, while the carry bag has a light, ergonomic design for even weight distribution and improved comfort. Designed for a cart, it also includes a stand and a dual strap for carrying.
The Verdana set is available in standard and petite (minus one inch) lengths.
