The new MP-53 irons from Mizuno feature a Diamond Muscle design and V slot milled pocket cavity, while maintaining the head size, playing profile and top line of the MP family of clubs.
The CNC milled Pocket Cavity removes 14 grams of weight, which is redistributed around the cavity to achieve a large sweet spot.
The MP-53s were designed through Mizuno’s use of Modal Analysis and Harmonic Impact Technologies to tune the sound of impact and create increased feel.
Mizuno has also applied a 360-degree grind on the back cavity for improved shotmaking and employed a thinner top line.
Grain Flow Forged from 1025 E Pure Select mild carbon steel, the MP-53s feature modified U-Grooves to meet the 2010 Condition of Competition.
These Grain Flow Forged irons have a Diamond Muscle design to enhance feel and control.
The MP-63s are designed to maintain the traditional head size, top line, offset and sole width of Mizuno while enhancing feel and versatility.
Through Modal Analysis, Mizuno studied the vibration simulations of the head and experimented with several methods of affecting the sound and feel at impact, leading to the use of Diamond Muscle Design, which reinforces the head from heel to toe.
The sole of the MP-63s includes a visible grind on the trailing edge for more precise turf interaction and shot versatility, while the progressive cavity is in place for greater playability in long irons and control in the short irons.
