As most of you know, the Canadian PGA Championship is back and will be played later this year right here at Cottonwood and I think it’s fantastic.
It’s good for golf and our association and it’s good to have such an event in the west. From a provincial standpoint, there will be some Albertans playing and we’re excited about showcasing our venue. We’re pretty proud of it.
For how many years have we heard people asking about the Canadian PGA Championship coming back and now that it is, it’s great.
If our members here at the club don’t get the significance of the event, it’s our job to educate them about its history and prestige and we will be doing that. There are some people who are more informed than others, I’m sure.
It will offer them the opportunity to see another side of golf professionals. It’s going to be our job to wave the banner and show them how proud we are to be part of the association.
We’ll be blasting tournament information out on our newsletter and linking people to the website to really show them how big a deal it is to have this tournament at their club.
We’re encouraging a pride in membership. We want out members to come out and watch the event and see the talent from within the Canadian PGA. We also want them to take an active role in the event.
As it draws closer, the members will be seeing what the Canadian PGA is all about and communication of that message is never a bad thing.
