It’s been an exciting year around here.
It’s a challenge having new staff members around, but I don’t mean that in a bad way. You have to catch yourself when you think somebody automatically knows something and you think to yourself, `Oh, that’s right. You didn’t know that.’
We just got back the island where we had our catering facility before the flood of 2013 and along with it came new staff members. What it’s created is a new energy and they’re brimming with new ideas, excitement, passion and desire to be top of class.
It’s fun to watch.
It’s been over two years since we had our catering facility. To get that open again and to have our food and beverage team working to drive that business requires the energy that they’ve exhibited, but the newcomers aren’t exclusive to that department.
Dale Miners has gone through his first full year as a head pro and our superintendent, Tyler Patroch isn’t in crisis mode and is planning for the next stages instead of cleaning up after a disaster.
To see those people come to the plate with so many new ways that they can make a difference is so refreshing for me after so many years here.
It’s exciting to see how excited they can be about what they can accomplish and it will be fun watching them get even better with experience going into 2016.
