We’re closing here at Coppinwood on Sunday and the weather forecast is calling for some nice temperatures, but some rain and high winds. We’ll see what happens.
We’ve got a fun, little tournament to finish off the season called “Tip and Tuck.” Not all, but some of the members, will play from the tips and the pins will be tucked.
We’ve also got out end-of-the-season awards ceremony on Saturday, with awards being handed out from the club championships, match play championships, that sort of thing. That reception is a nice close to the season.
This season started off very rainy, but I think the summer was fine and the fall was spectacular. September and October were two great months and if you had asked in June, I don’t think many people would have been optimistic, but I think that feeling has turned around.
We finished on a strong note, so I would give this season an A. The weather wasn’t perfect, but we had a nice finish and we’re blessed with members who support all departments within the operation such as food and beverage and the pro shop.
I would give a good mark for a good year.
