The first long weekend of the summer has come and gone in Canada, even though it isn’t officially summer, but who cares about official?
In our hearts, it’s summertime and the living is easy, at least for those crowding through the doors of our of our golf operations as if it was a brouhaha in the House of Commons. Okay, maybe not that bad, but here’s hoping you had plenty of people milling about in the clubhouse, pro shop or out on the greens and fairways.
Some of us have been blessed with an incredibly warm spring. Even in Southern Ontario, the long weekend was low 20s and sunny throughout, a week after snow fell in some areas. Mind you, the snow fell in Alberta as well on the long weekend after all those toasty temperatures, so go figure.
Despite the cool, rainy weather, Ontario courses like many others across Canada have been open for some time now and with the May 2-4 weekend over, we’d be interested in getting an early read on how you see business at the golf operation where you work shaping up for 2016.
We know some Canadian golf courses have just opened in the past few weeks, so it’s difficult to get a read just yet, so we’ve put a “too early to tell” reply in this week’s GNN Poll on this subject.
You can vote below or on the GNN home page and, as always, we welcome you to expand your thoughts in the Comments section below.
