As Tiffany Gordon points out in her blog today, holiday staff parties take some planning, but it’s worth it to illustrate your gratitude to people for a job well done over the past year.
It gets a little more complicated when you’re a national industry website and your bloggers are in places such as Baddeck, N.S. and Point Roberts, Wash., and all points in-between, but as Tiff says, you still want to let people know they’re appreciated.
Since they’re busy with other events (and to be honest, I can’t afford to fly them all in for a party), I do want to extend my sincere thanks to them for their efforts this year as GNN shuts down for a two-week break over the holidays as of today.
One contributor, and he’s a big one, who I do plan on getting together with over the holiday is our stellar creative guy Steve Woods, who has been a foundation for GNN from the beginning, whether he was designing and building the site or offering welcomed advice.
All of the above and many guest contributors have played important roles in the development of GNN since it was launched during tough economic times back in September of 2008.
Their efforts have not gone unnoticed by me, nor the people who click on to GNN, which is a rapidly growing number according to the readership numbers we see on our analytics.
To our readers and advertisers, your contribution has also been a solid foundation as GNN has grown into the primary source for news and information in the Canadian golf industry. We look forward to seeing more of you as we look ahead with optimism to 2011.
As I mentioned in earlier blogs, we’ll stay on our toes for any breaking news before returning regularly in early January. In the meantime, feel free to go through our archives and enjoy the past blogs and stories mentioned above.
Have a peaceful and relaxed holiday season and return refreshed in 2011. To all of our readers, advertisers and contributors, may you enjoy the next few weeks with friends and family …
